Sisters / Brothers True Love Group Int’l concluded the year, 2023, by staging a Mega Outreach in Etche, the home town of their CEO,
ABIA, ABIA STATE, NIGERIA MEGA OUTREACH 15th MAY 2021 – The event in pictures
Sisters True Love Group International entourage arrived at Abia on the 22nd of May 2021 with a royal welcome. We went into the “Igwe’s palace” to seal our relationship with his community. 30 minutes later, the occasion started officially. The purpose of the occasion was to reassure the community of our findings and commitment to make sure that the widows and the less privileged in the community can be rest assured of the promises made to them. Examples of the promises are; building of bore whole pipes for clean water; which has always been a struggle for the community as they have always drank from stream, access to good roads, and community market place where inter-town trading can take place etc. In that doing, we believe that more job opportunities will be created for the youths especially and crime rates will reduce in the community. We were provided a space for structural projects.
A cow was given to the “Igwe” and his cabins. 312 wrappers were given to the women, 260 mini bags of rice was given, we cooked 8 coolers of rice, 2 coolers of chicken, 600 pieces of meat pie, 600 pieces of puff puff, 2 full basket of garden eggs, drinks and water were all provided.
After the activity, members of STLGI had dinner to celebrate the success of our outreach.
LAFIA, NASARAWA STATE, NIGERIA MEGA OUTREACH MAY 2021 – How it happened
Members of the Sisters True Love Group International arrived safely at Lafia, Nasarawa on the 15th of May 2021. We visited the three major refugee camps in Nasarawa. Activity location was at poly camp; where we were able to attend to over 300 women, amongst those were 75 widows, about 25 orphans, and over 80 kids in total, male and female. Amongst the teenagers, 20 students were sent to secondary school, 10 boys were sent to a boarding school and the remaining 10 kids were sent to day school, all educational requirements and fees were taken care of. Skill acquisition was awarded to 12 kids and paid for. 20 widows were given some amount of money to start up a trade, to be able to fend for themselves and their kids.
The principals of the schools were invited and were present at the activity. They had the opportunity to speak to our children to welcome and encourage them to a new beginning.
STLGI provided 100+ pieces of wrapper to share amongst the women, 100 tubers of yam, 100 mini bags of rice, food, drinks and water were also provided. The activity was very successful, the widows appreciated the gifts and our children were really excited because they have not been to school in over 6 years. Some Kids above 18 decided to learn a skill versus going back to school, which was funded by STLGI.
After the activity, members of STLGI gathered to celebrate the success of the activity. We all had dinner with our sisters and their husbands, appreciation gifts were given to the husbands that were supportive and were present at the activity; everything ended in praise.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARD POSTPONED
Due to the Corona Virus pandemic sweeping across cities in the US and the world, and following the advise of the CDC in our city, we have decided to postponed the planned Scholarship award slated for April, 2020. Applicants are still encouraged to go ahead and apply as plans are been made to reschedule the event as soon as the situation improves.
